Background

The LMMG have recommended that this treatment is suitable for shared care arrangements i.e Amber 2. However, in the absence of a locally agreed shared care guideline, prescribing for all new patients should remain within secondary care. Patients who are already established on treatment should be able to continue to receive co-trimoxazole under existing arrangements. The LMMG will review this colour classification, should suitable Shared Care arrangements be proposed by secondary care.
